I sit down and say to myself 'right, I can do three full reviews, work on the app then do some housekeeping on the site'. What actually happens is I write one review, start to publicise it a little, get distracted by a story on PreCentral, oh and hey what is everyone saying on Twitter, wait I gotta do this....three hours later and all I've done is make my review queue even longer

Re: Travel Tips for webOS Users
I absolutely adore reading your blog posts, the variety of writing is smashing. This blog

as usual was educational, I have had to bookmark your site and subscribe to your feed

in ifeed. Those two are great choices, btw.

I probably won't be buying $50 worth of Clif bars every month, for example, or $50 for in-game art and exclusives from LoL. But I can still support them with my wallet. :)

Re: “Would you miss me if I were gone?”

Interesting thought. But I don't spend $50/month on anything other than essentials. Food/Shelter/Transportation/Utilities(includes phone and internet). Not starbucks, not TV, not entertainment, not even webOS apps. But I could support a 3/5 program... Especially to support homebrewers like Canuck Coding and webOSinternals. Just sayin.

Re: “Would you miss me if I were gone?”

Well put! Your goal then is to be a good leader to get them to where the both of you want to go. This means listening and at times sharing the load with others. Leaders can't do it all alone all of the time.

Re: What makes a writer?

continue with the the great work on the blog. It's not so much that we're awesome because we lack trolls and that we'll know we're more popular when we get more trolls. In the same way, Apple is now extremely popular, but still doesn't have the same volume of viruses and malware that Microsoft has. This doesn't mean that Apple hasn't "made it" yet, just that they had more time to work (efficiently) without all kinds of bugs knocking at the door.

The webOS community has the same advantage right now. We don't have all of the problems that come with having a HUGE community, and so we can build more efficiently and use our time wisely. It's the same thing that Quora did for so long with keeping their service private. Thew fewer the trolls they had at the beginning, the more control they have over the entire experience, and the higher the quality is later down the road.

Taking things slow is not necessarily a bad thing. Makes me wonder if Palm really wants to be #1 just yet, or if they're waiting till the trolls make their home someplace else.

Re: webOS: Is it really all that awesome?

What makes us Awesome is lack of trolls.
The more popular the OS the more trolls appear.
So, we'll know we've made it big when we get a lot of trolls?
Here's hoping for more trolls!

Manny

Re: webOS: Is it really all that awesome?

The Relations team is far more involved in the community than any other I have ever encountered (save the guys at Joomla!). But still, I don't think it's quite fair to say they're the 'better' team at everything, just better at being awesome. ;)

Of course, Adora might kick me if I don't correct that statement. So I take it back, the Palm Dev Team is better at everything.
